How to reach Palermo Coming from far away, we recommend taking a plane. The international airport of Palermo (Falcone and Borsellino also known as Punta Raisi) is easily connected to the mainland from the airports of Rome Fiumicino and Milan (both Linate and Malpensa). The airport is about 30 km from the heart of the city. To reach Palermo from the airport you may take a Taxi (quite expensive about €50) or a Prestia & Comande Coach (lot cheaper about €7, deprt every 30 minutes) and get down at the Central Station (last stop) or you may take the train (called Metropolitana) Line A (costs about 6 or 7€) that will take you to the central station with trips about every 30 minutes. The University Campus is at about 1.5 KM from the Central Station.
