GREAT RESET

OPPORTUNITY OR THREAT?

TRACK TOPIC:

SHARING ECONOMY

ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL CHANGE

CHAIR:

Rodolfo Hernandez
Professor of Applied Economics, University of Valencia, Spain

TRACK TOPIC DESCRIPTION:

The recent changes of economic and political systems in the era of Turbo-Capitalism  and their political consequences are analysed in this track.

Decades of development and transition experience in many countries have clearly demonstrated the importance of institutions and institutional change for the functioning of markets and the ways in which policies influence economic activity in general and economic growth in particular.

Economic and political change seems more important now than ever before. The collaborative economy or p2p sharing economy, a multifaceted concept of increasing relevance, is the focus of the new paradigm change. From the traditional contradiction of labor and capital, “collaboration” and “sharing” conduct greater efficiency, resulting from decentralization and heterogeneity. We propose three recommendations. First, the development of active economic policies and intentional planning to address the new challenges. Second, the promotion of government interventions, beyond simple regulations, especially in the field of big data and in creating digital platforms using artificial intelligence. Third, the advancement of a new generation of platform cooperatives and companies that would help to achieve a new balance in values and environmental respect, in the envisioned future of a turbo-capitalism era or a post-labor age. We invite you to submit proposals to achieve these purposes.

The track aims to fosters the enquiry from all the research fields, considering a wide range of aspects of economic systems including macro and micro policies and their effects as well as global trade issues.
