TRACK TOPIC DESCRIPTION:

Since the first time the term was adopted in 1956, Artificial Intelligence has remained the ‘hot word’ of the moment for many industries. AI could be described „as capability of a computer to perform tasks without supervision that normally require human brainwork“ (Weizmann, 2022).

Amazon gives one useful definition of AI, calling it “the field of computer science dedicated to solving cognitive problems commonly associated with human intelligence, such as learning, problem solving, and pattern recognition”. “Artificial intelligence is kind of the second coming of software,” said Amir Husain, founder and CEO of machine-learning company SparkCognition. “It’s a form of software that makes decisions on its own, that’s able to act even in situations not foreseen by the programmers. Artificial intelligence has a wider latitude of decision-making ability as opposed to traditional software.”

Artificial intelligence is not a system in itself but can be included in a business or organisation systems. As AI technologies proliferate, they are becoming imperative to maintain a competitive edge. In business, artificial intelligence has a wide range of uses such as saving time, improving customer experience, automating of customer relationships, predicting outcomes, etc. Some of the most standard uses of AI are machine learning, cybersecurity, customer relationship management, internet searches and personal assistants. Like other technologies, AI can’t complete tasks by itself.

To address the challenges of AI application, business leaders and executives must create an AI roadmap to understand how the technology will help the business achieve its goals. All this must be done in collaboration with the scientists and researchers.
