TRACK TOPIC DESCRIPTION
In the framework of today’s digital age, the dynamics faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) bring forward a wide spectrum of challenges in terms of both tangible and intangible organizational assets. Being placed at the crossroads of survival and growth strategic approaches, SMEs are forced to leverage their internal resources to an unprecedented great extent and to capitalize all the environmental opportunities whenever they may be seized. The array of organizational resources consists of the intellectual capital as a whole and as objectivized through its three dimensions (i.e., human capital, structural capital and relational capital), of cutting-edge marketing and communication strategies, of highly-skilled managerial teams, of pivotal digital competence at all levels, etc. The innovative associations of these components and of the related ones stand for major prerequisites for SMEs growth in the context of an increasingly competitive business arena which disposes of static or inertial stances at high speed.

Starting from these considerations, the current track invites proposals on topics, such as:
1.     SMEs challenges in the digital age
2.     Marketing strategies for SMEs competitiveness
3.     Innovation strategies for SMEs growth
4.     Opportunities and risks for SMEs growth in the digital economy
5.     Opportunities and risks for SMEs growth in the knowledge economy
6.     The relationship between intellectual capital and SMEs competitiveness in different fields
7.     Knowledge management strategies for SMEs in the digital age
8.     SMEs as learning organizations in the digital age
9.     The influence of digital / technological competence for SMEs competitive advantage
10.   Online business networks capitalization and SMEs growth
