This track focuses generally on the formal area of research related to the theme of innovation. It focuses specifically on the processes through which a practical idea is brought to market so as to improve human capacity to attain the impact for which it was contemplated.  As such, it is concerned with the intermediate stage between the conceptual invention of an idea and its marketable diffusion in society.  This process may be considered a systemic innovation when systems of shared solutions emerge from the collective intelligence of innovation leaders and designers that are both globally informed and locally relevant in their application.

The objective of the track is  to explore of new methods, models and means of emerging an ecology of R&D+i (research and development plus innovation) in the generation of socio-technical solutions that are synergetic with each other (thereby forming a collective incubator based on the application of collective intelligence).  The emergence of such an innovation ecology requires leadership and systemic innovation that incorporates social values, technological creativity, economic opportunity and environmental integrity.

Topics include (but are not limited to):

  • Innovation,
  • Leadership,
  • Connective intelligence,
  • Collective intelligence,
  • Collective creativity,
  • Design thinking,
